In the midst of illusion of progress, prosperity and rapid growth, brought about by Industrial Revolution, it required the exceptional perception of a group of individuals, endowed with the gift of foresight, to realize the unplanned, unregulated and uncontrolled growth of industries had started becoming destructive of the very wealth of this Good Earth and well-being of Man.
EPMPL is an organization that has perceived, with clarity, this paradox of destruction in the midst of plenty. EPMPL has identified the source of this destructive force and the aims to cater the professional services to do something concrete to dangerous process, before it becomes irreversible.
Environmental pollution has assumed a greater significance in the last couple of years due to increased awareness among the masses. Apart from the actual impacts of mini & major Bhopal Gas Tragedies, other factors such as printed & visual media’s greater role, liberalization & along with it professional culture & work attitude has created a sharp rise in the public awareness. Coping with environmental pollution has thus become a cause for anxiety for many industries. This anxiety is twofold; it involves investment & disturbs production costs and also there is question of choosing the appropriate technology.
The attention to environmental pollution has shifted from “End of the pipe treatment” to Reuse/Recycling, i.e. to prevent pollution at source rather than control pollution. Emphasis is also given to segregation & separate treatment of highly concentrated low volume wastes.
Industrial Pollution is a complex problem, and no soft options are available. It requires scientific analysis, an open unbiased debate and earnest attempts of at finding solutions that are workable and the clarity needed to fix priorities for action. It is in this task of evolving pragmatic course of action. It is in this task of evolving pragmatic course of action, we have formulated EPMPL.
To cater the professional services & to cope with rapidly widening activities, EPMPL has constituted classification of its activities in the field of environmental engineering.
