Lote- Parshuram being Chemical Zone out of around 200 industries about 135 industrial units are small, medium and large chemical industries, manufacturing dyes intermediates, bulk drugs, agro chemicals and specialty chemicals. Effluent of those industries is although suppose to be treated properly crosses the limits given by MPCB, Sometimes by ignorance, sometimes due to non access to appropriate technology, sometimes non availability of space, sometimes not willingness to spend.
To save our water sources and the planet and environment in all, Govt. of India and the state Govt. offered subsidy for Common Effluent Treatment Plant. Industries at Lote –Parshuram responded positively and Lote Parshuram Industries Association took lead to establish Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) in the area. Under the leadership of Shri. Sunil Shirke the co-operative society named Lote Parshuram Environment Protection Co-Operative Society Ltd., was established in the year 2000. The 4.5mld plant was commissioned in record time.
Lote- Parshuram CETP was put in operations on 3rd June2000 by auspicious hands of Shri. Patangrao Kadam Hon. Minister of Industries & Shri. Rajesh Tope State Minister for Industries & Environment GOM in presence of Shr. Mushtaq Antule, Shri Ramdas Kadam MLA Khed and other dignitaries. This was possible because of the help extended by Hon. Shri. Suresh Prabhu Minister for Environment GOI and Hon. Shri. Anant Gite MP Ratnagiri and all the officials at Environment Ministry at Central and Industries & Environment ministries at Govt. of Maharashtra.
