This website is for the propagation and facilitation of “Rain Water Harvesting” (RWH) in urban cities and towns. It is created out of inspiration from a little known “Panibaba” in Hyderabad who distributes hundreds of glasses of drinking water every day to general public to quench their thirst during the summer months, by carrying water cans and glasses in his bicycle. One of the local TV channels was good enough to cover the humble activity of this great soul. I salute this good human being. I wish such persons do not run out of water to pursue their service to humanity.

Some of the simple suggestions, articles, newspaper clippings, photos, videos, sketches, drawings, etc. depicted in this site are presumed to help a wide spectrum of urban society in the country.

About Us

If entire Chennai city can lead by example to pursue “Rain Water Harvesting” and ensure that ground water levels rose considerably across the city from 50’ to 5’ below ground level between the years of 2003 and 2012, every other city and town in India can. In stark contrast, every year water levels in Hyderabad are dropping.

If one can replicate the Chennai example in Hyderabad in the years to come by practicing “Rain Water Harvesting” every household can be self sufficient in water requirement and tanker water dependency can be eliminated.

WATER & HINDU MYTHOLOGY
As per Hindu mythology the great king of Kosala, Bhagiratha brought river Ganga to earth from heavens.

Services

It will be in our own interest to do our might in bringing back to life at least some of the traditional RWH methods, especially preserving our lakes and practice RWH be it in individual bungalows, flat complexes, offices, schools, temples, factories, roads, parks, flyovers, etc.

This website attempts to provide such information which will be of use to those interested in implementing RWH in their respective locations. If everybody adopts RWH, everyone can benefit as is proved in the case of Chennai.

Let all Hyderabadis and other urban city / town dwellers take RWH in right earnest.

Viewers of this site who have come across “Panibabas” who have done remarkable work in the RWH arena or have contributed on their own to this cause practically at field level may send details of their achievements with a brief write up on the work carried out supported by photos, to be included in this web site in our ARTICLES section of GALLERY
